The three rides: start, length and what is included

The city ride with a local guide lasts 2.5 hours and costs €40. It starts at Predikherenstraat 28, and the group should arrive 15 minutes before departure. A city bike, a helmet and the local guide are included, and the group is small. Children can join from the age of 10 if they can ride safely in traffic; the guide decides on the day.

The small-group ride on cruiser bikes lasts 2 hours and costs €43. It starts at Potterierei 4. Cruiser bikes and the guide are included, helmets are available on request, and the guide shares insider tips for Bruges and other European cities. Choose this one if you prefer a smaller circle.

The Christmas ride lasts 2 hours and costs €49. It starts at Grauwwerkersstraat 29 and passes the Belfry, the old harbour and the Town House. The guide also shows a medieval palace and a monastery garden, where a hot chocolate or mulled wine is served around a fire. A chocolate tasting and warm gloves are included. The ride is seasonal, so it belongs to a winter visit, not a summer one.

Which ride fits you

For a first day in Bruges, the 2.5 hour city ride covers the most ground for €40, or €16 per hour. The 2 hour cruiser ride at €43 works out at €21.50 per hour. The Christmas ride costs €24.50 per hour, and its price includes the chocolate and the drink by the fire. A family of four pays €160 on the city ride, €172 on the cruiser ride and €196 on the Christmas ride.

Light showers do not normally cancel the city ride, so a changeable day in Bruges is still a good day to cycle.

Cycling rules in the centre

Bruges has a cycle zone in the centre with a speed limit of 30 km/h, and cars may not overtake cyclists there. Covered bike parking in and around the centre is free, which helps if you want to explore a quarter on foot after the ride.
