Bruges beer in two stops

For beer in Bruges, start with two addresses. De Halve Maan on Walplein runs guided brewery tours. Bourgogne des Flandres on Wollestraat offers a brewery visit with a tasting and has its own bar with a terrace. Together they cover most of what a visitor needs: a classic tour, a shorter visit and a place to sit down with a glass.

Both are in the old town and can be combined in one day. The prices below are the 2026 figures from the breweries. This independent guide focuses on these two venues. You will find more bars on a walk through the center.

The beer pipeline

Since 2016 an underground pipeline has linked the De Halve Maan brewery with its bottling plant outside the center. The city describes it as roughly 3 km (1.9 miles) long. More on that below.

You cannot walk the pipeline. The tour includes a virtual experience of the pipeline and the bottling plant instead, so do not expect an underground tunnel visit.

Bourgogne des Flandres: brewery visit and bar

Bourgogne des Flandres is at Wollestraat 26. The brewery recommends reserving, especially in high season.

TicketPrice 2026What is included
Dry Discovery€13Ticket without a tasting
Discovery€16Ticket with a beer
Beerflight€28Beer flight ticket
Duo€39Ticket for two people
Teen€8Ticket for teenagers, see the age note below

Children under 12 go free when accompanied. The brewery's FAQ describes a guided visit with a tasting of about 75 minutes. The ticket page describes the Dry Discovery and Discovery as self-guided visits. Ask which format your ticket has when you reserve.

The teen ticket is listed for ages 12 to 18 in one place and for ages 12 to 16 in the ticket selection. If your teenager is 17 or older, ask before you buy. A child or teen ticket does not give anyone a right to an alcoholic tasting, so ask what drink comes with it.

The bar is normally open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00 and closed on Mondays. Opening hours can change, so check before a special trip.

Planning a beer day

Both venues are in the old town. A simple order is the De Halve Maan standard tour in the morning, a stroll along the canals and a visit or a drink at Bourgogne des Flandres in the afternoon. If you choose the XL tour, keep it for a weekend and leave your afternoon free.

Pair the day with a sweet stop. Our chocolate guide covers the museum, the workshop and two shops. Prefer to see the canals first? Read about the canal boat tour. Still deciding what to do? The Bruges tours page compares walking tours, bike tours and tastings.

Drink responsibly and plan your way back, especially after the XL tour with three tastings. The old town is compact, and walking is usually the easiest way home.
